The Faculty of Economics was founded in 1990 as a part of the University of West Bohemia.
Since then the school has been closely cooperating with other faculties (particularly as regards
the following subjects: Mathematics, Statistics, Programming, Law, etc.). The s.c. "credit" system
of study was introduced in 1993.
The Faculty of Economics has also established a lot of contacts with schools abroad (fellowship
of distinguished specialists at the Faculty of Economics, short-term attachment
of our students at other schools, excursions, practical training of students in many companies
operating in industry, tourism, spa industry, trade, banking, statistics, etc.)
Since 1996, the students at the Faculty of Economics have been able to study not only for the
Bachelor´s Degree (a three-year study programme), but also for the Master´s Degree. By this act,
the Faculty of Economics has become an equal partner to the other faculties of the University
of West Bohemia.
