The content of the first stage of study is the same as for the Bachelor´s Degree Course (to be studied both in Plzen or Cheb). The second stage is to be studied in Plzen or at another School of Economics in the Czech Republic.

The Programme of Study of the second stage:

basic economic disciplines (microeconomics, macroeconomics, financial management of business, controlling, strategic marketing, etc.)

strategy of small and medium-sized businesses, strategic management, statistic analysis, etc.

foreign languages (advanced level)

specialised subjects and electives

[Bachelor´s]

Awarded title: Bachelor - Bc.
Forms of study: full-time (in Cheb or in Plzen), distance-learning (in Cheb only)

The first 4 semesters form the introductory stage of study. After the first stage, students have to choose whether they would like to study for the Bachelor´s Degree or to continue and study for the Master´s Degree.

In the second stage of the bachelor study programme, students can focus on one of the following:

tourism, hotel and spa industry

enterprise in trade and services

finance

economy of small and medium-sized businesses

enterprise and management (distance-learning only).

The students have to take basic theoretical and application economic disciplines (mathematics, economic statistics, microeconomics, macroeconomics, computing, ¨informatics, accounting, business econom, etc.). Among the more practical disciplines belong: law, tax issues, finance, psychology, sociology, marketing, etc. Students also have to take two languages courses. At the end of the 3-year course, the students take the final bachelor exam and defend their thesis on a selected topic.

[Distancni studium]

The Centre of Lifelong Education offers two programmes - 1. Enterprise and Management, 2. Public Economy. The courses are accessible without taking the entrance examinations. The applicant must have a full secondary education and pay a fee (14 000 CZK). Having passed all the exams of the first 2 semesters, the students can pass to the Bachelor´s Degree Programme.
